Abstract:
The implementation of cooperative learning in teaching of English basic vocabulary to students from 5th in the Escuela Normal Superior, Anexa Manuel Saavedra Galindo in Guacarí, was performed in order to strengthen both the social and cognitive aspect of the population, achieving with this that students improve their level of English, new friendships were born and improve interpersonal relationships among peers in the same group.
For achieving this, it was required the implementation of three structured instruments, which were carried out at the beginning and the end of the research, and three progressive type instruments, which were carried out min the course of it. These instruments were used in order to assess the progress of students in the social and cognitiva aspect. These instruments were sociograma and surveys for analyzing the attitudes; and tests and assessments cognitive side; and journals and lesson plans were also used in the research to obtain and report results on both cases.
At the end of the investigation, it resulted that students increased their English level with respect to learning basic vocabulary and improved their social relationships in the group, it was also evidenced the emergence of new leaders and the integration of students who initially were considered isolated and marginalized. lt is necessary to consider that despite the significant results it is recommended that this research be implemented over a prolonged period of time, given that in this opportunity was implemented during 4 months, in order to have better results and to achieve cooperative groups.
Finally, it has as evidence the results; it may ensure the importance of contexts in learning, given that this population showed significant progress in the academic aspect due to the interaction between them. Equally, it is mentioned the difference that was found in the beginning and the end in relation to interpersonal relationships, especially the new friendships and leaders that emerged.
