Abstract The aim of this paper is to present the result of a research which analyzed the CLIL approach incidence in the scientific thinking development through the Natural Science sub- ject in fourth grade students at Colegio Bilin- güe Hispano Americano in Colombia. To achie- ve this, a comparison was made between the groups 4th B, in which the approach was applied, and 4thA which continued receiving the conven- tional classes. A diagnostic test was carried out in both groups in order to measure their scien- tific thinking level, and then a didactic unit was designed and applied accordingly to the CLIL approach characteristics. An intermediate test was applied in the middle of the implementa- tion, but only in the focal group, to observe the students' advance, and finally a third test was carried out to know if there was any progress in the development of scientific thinking in both groups. The results from this last test showed a marked improvement in the focal group, there- fore, it is relevant to affirm the positive influen- ce of the above mentioned approach in the deve- lopment of the scientific thinking.
